Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi

    Upon arrival in Hanoi, we transfer to our hotel where early check-in ensures our rooms are ready. After some time to freshen up, we begin our Vietnam tour with a visit to the National Museum of Fine Art, showcasing ancient stone carvings and Buddhist statues. We then explore the lakeside Ngoc Son Temple and take a walking tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, a bustling area filled with narrow streets, traditional shop-houses, temples, and numerous cafés and bars.

  • Day 2: Hanoi City tour
    Today, we continue exploring Hanoi, visiting the monumental Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the wooden stilt house where Ho Chi Minh spent his later years. Nearby, we see the One Pillar Pagoda, the 11th-century Temple of Literature, and West Lake, where we visit Tran Quoc Pagoda and the Taoist Quan Thanh Temple. The afternoon is at leisure, with an optional evening water puppet show, a unique traditional art form from northern Vietnam.

  • Day 3 - Hanoi to Halong Bay
    We travel through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta to Halong. Here, we board our private junk for a cruise on the emerald waters of Halong Bay, dotted with over 2,000 karst islands topped with dense jungle. After lunch on board, we return to Halong.

  • Day 4 - Halong to Hoi An
    We fly to Danang and travel onward to Hoi An. In the afternoon, we take a walking tour of Hoi An’s exceptionally well-preserved old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with over a thousand preserved buildings, including temples, merchants’ houses, warehouses, and workshops.

  • Day 5 - Hoi An
    This morning, we visit the peaceful village of Triem Tay on Cam Kim Island. Accompanied by our guide, we tour traditional houses, meet locals, and learn about their culture and traditions.

  • Day 6 - Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City
    We fly to Ho Chi Minh City and enjoy a dinner cruise on the Saigon River aboard a traditional wooden junk.

  • Day 7 - Cu Chi Tunnels and Ho Chi Minh City
    We visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, an intricate underground network used by Vietcong guerrillas during the Vietnam War. In the city, we tour landmarks including the Reunification Palace, the Central Post Office, and the opera house.

  • Day 8 - Ben Tre
    Today, we explore the Mekong Delta, Vietnam’s ‘rice bowl’. In Tien Giang, we board a boat for a scenic river cruise, visit a small handicraft factory on Turtle Island, take a tuk-tuk ride, enjoy local honey, and explore the Xep Canal by boat. We also visit the Vinh Trang Pagoda in My Tho.

  • Day 9 - Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap
    We fly to Siem Reap and transfer to our hotel.

  • Day 10 - Angkor Wat
    We explore Angkor Wat, the world’s largest religious complex and Cambodia’s most iconic symbol. Starting at Angkor Thom, we visit the Bayon Temple, Ta Prohm temple, and the main Angkor Wat complex, famous for its bas reliefs and depictions of Hindu myths. We end the day with a sunset view from Sros Srong or Bakheng Mountain.

  • Day 11 - Siem Reap
    We take a boat trip on Tonlé Sap Lake, visiting a floating village. On our return, we stop at the SATCHA Cambodian handicraft centre to see local artisans at work.

  • Day 12 - Siem Reap and Departure
    Our final day is free for leisure until we visit the Royal Garden in Siem Reap, home to the King’s Palace. We offer a lotus flower at the Preah Ang Chek Preah Ang Chorm Shrine before transferring to the airport for return flight.
