Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and start your Luang Prabang exploration by visiting the most photographed temple, Vat Xiengthong, which is located in the picturesque area at the end of the peninsular where the Mekong and Khan rivers meet. Then continue to the former Royal Palace. Now it is the National Museum, where you can see the royal religious objects, weapons, paintings, and crown jewels of Laos.

In the afternoon, we will transfer you to the pier, where you board a traditional long trail boat. Enjoy a relaxing cruise upstream on the mighty Mekong River. Enjoy stunning mountain scenery and witness the simple rural lifestyle of the locals. At the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Ou rivers, you will reach Pak Ou caves. In these two caves, there are over 4000 sacred centuries-old Buddha images, which are the object of pilgrimages during the Lao New Year festivities around mid-April. Then cruiseback to Luang Prabang. On the way, stop to visit Ban Xangkhong, a weaving village, where you can jump into wooden looms with a local expert for hands-on experience.

OPTIONAL TOUR - OBSERVING THE ALMS GIVING CEREMONY

An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning almsgiving ritual to saffron-clad monks. This tradition is unique to Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving this procession. Next, visit fresh local markets before going back to the hotel for breakfast.

Have breakfast at the hotel we will drive along green rice paddies and farms to one of the most beautiful Kuang Si waterfalls. Enjoy a leisure walk on trails of falls to visit the bear rescued center. Enjoy spectacular views and the orchids inside the park and falls cascade over many calcified tiers and down several hundred feet into a series of cool, turquoise pools.
In the afternoon, we will transfer you to the train station to take a speed train to Vientiane (about a 2-hour trip). Upon arrival in Vientiane, you will be transferred to the hotel to rest.

Have breakfast at the hotel and meet your guide in the lobby. Today you will spend exploring one of the most tranquil capitals in the world.
You will visit Wat Sisaket with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues. Then head to Wat Prakeo, which used to be the original home of the famous Emerald Buddha, which today is located in Bangkok. Continue to the huge golden That Luang monument, which is a sacred monument and one of Laos’ most impressive religious structures. End your morning exploration by seeing Vientiane’s own Victory Monument, which looks like the Arc de Triumph. It was built at the end of the Indochina wars with money rumored to be American and earmarked for the airport’s new runway.
In the afternoon, continue sightseeing at Buddha Park, where you will see Buddha statues in modern style shapes. One of them is the largest Reclining Buddha in Laos. The park was founded in 1958 by monk and sculpture artist, Bunleua Sulila to educate future generations about religion. Spend relaxing time in the park admiring the sculptures and taking beautiful photos before getting back to your hotel.
